[SU11] Bushtrip Saving Behavior Change

Hello,

I have a new issue with saving of bush trips. I guess, it was introduced with SU11 changelog entry 189:

189Fixed bushtrip save behavior in case you have multiple bushtrips in the same package

Before SU11:

One Package

  • Asset A - USA bush trip
  • Asset B - Europe bush trip

Flew the first 3 legs of USA --> first 3 legs of Europe were also completed. This bug seems to be fixed in SU11.

But when you have one package, one (or more) asset with a single bush trip and this bush trip has multiple flight-files to offer the XBox users to fly each leg with another plane / weather, ..., it looks like the state is saved now on FLT-File Level and not on asset level.

With SU10: Fly first leg with Plane A. It was possible to continue this bush trip with Plane B on leg 2.
With SU11: Fly first leg with Plane A. It is NOT possible to continue this bush trip with Plane B on leg 2.

This was a very good feature, especially for the Xbox user who are not able to edit flt files or user MissionChanger. With this, i.e. you can have a real bush flight on a small island with a slow/STOL plane and for the transport leg to a neighbor island you could use the King Air or TBM to continue with the STOL aircraft on leg 3.

Is there any possibility to re-create this function in SU11 inside of the definition files, FLT, Xml, …?

And in addition: Is it possible to define the name of the activity_widget.jpg or is it fix coded?

Thank you in Advance,

BuffyGC

Hi @BuffyGC ,

The devs confirmed to me that the fact that the save was shared between all missions in a package was indeed a problem that has been fixed.

The point is that in order to bring back the old issue, but this time as a real feature, a new system would have to be designed / implemented to take into account the tank capacity / number of fuel tanks and other saved data.. when using a different aircraft for the next leg.

I sugest you open an idea about this. That way, we can discuss it internally when we review the ideas.

Thank you for the project, it helped a lot ;)

Regards,
Boris

Thank you very much @Boris_

I will open an idea later with my thoughts.

The mission was a quick 10min hack for you near Bordeaux, including the translations to French :)

Hi @BuffyGC,

It was never planned to be able to change planes after a leg. We are curious about the package to get this behavior, can you send me a sample?
When you say "assets", you mean the AssetGroup <Type>Mission</Type> ?

About activity_widget.jpg, yes, it's hardcoded.

Boris

Hi @Boris_

you got the requested files in a private comment on original post.

And yes, "Assets" means "AssetGroup"of type mission.

About the activity_widget: Would be great, when we can define the activity-widget and reward screen image file names like the briefing/loading images or any similar entry in the FLT file.

Thanks again,
BuffyGC
