Jetway Issues on SU 5

Since early beta and after release of SU5, I'm having strange behavior of jetways at my airport. Sometimes jetways don't even load, sometimes the jetway links do not connect. I'm using the latest SDK. Same airport file would work perfectly before the update.

I've tried recreating the gate and it does't work. What could it be?
It usually happens when I load into my airport, If I fly there, it works correctly sometimes.

If I load the project into the project editor, everything connects right away.

Hello,

To give you some news about the different jetways issues:

- The jetway sometimes don't connect : fixed, should be available in the next update

- The jetway disappears : we're still investigating, doing our best to fix for the next update

- The animations are wrong in some LODs : no bandwith to investigate at the moment.

If we can't reproduce the disappearing jetways situation, we may ask for your packages to repro, I'll keep you posted.

My ticket 114358 includes a very minimal project with disappearing default jetways at ENBR depending on if you spawn north or south of an imaginary line. It seems to be a slightly different variation of the general disappearing jetway issue.

Just a quick note that maybe help you out with your troubleshooting.


When I spawn at a gate at my airport (with the exported build in my community folder), I see sometimes 2 out of 6 jetways or 0 out of 6 jetways (depending on which gate I choose). To get them "back" I launch the dev cam to the stratosphere and when I come back down to earth they are all %100 there and working.

Also, jetways are always 100% in place and appear fine while in dev mode. Only on a SU5 export the issue is present.

Were the issues that were supposed to be addressed in regards to jetway docking be fixed on WU6? because I don't see any improvement.

I'll add something that might be useful:

It's not required to "go in the stratosphere" to fix the disappearing jetways. It's enough to move away to the airport and back again, for example:

- Some jetways at our FSDT KORD are randomly missing at start

- Use the Dev mode Teleport tool to go to KCMI

- After KCMI loaded, use the Teleport tool to go back to KORD, ALL jetways are there.

We confirm no jetway fix and no 60%-freeze fix.
We are probably going to implement static jetways until the issue is solved.

just an idea:

Could this be not just jetway related by in general a issue with animated parts on SimObjects (Jetways seems to be handled as SimObjects in the Sim)?

While running some tests with AI (default generic) we identified that they still spawed without nosewheel (live ai), but after waiting some time and moving the camera it appeared again.

Maybe some issue with animated parts and LODs?

-> I have no clue about modelling so this is just a quick guess....

That might be LOD related but, we have several sceneries that have several Simobjects, with LODs and animations too, they always show, only jetways have this specific problem.

I made another test and, it's not required to move *that* far away to have them reappear. For example:

- Start at FSDT Chicago O'Hare on the default runway. Only 5-6 jetways on terminal M are there.

- Use the teleport tool to go to Chicago Midway ( which is VERY close!! )

- Teleport back to KORD, ALL jetways are there.

I can confirm same symptoms here with my package. Even a fresh project on a 100% working jetway they don't show up when spawning at the gate until you leave and come back. They are not "under the ground" when in mesh view.


I am blown away on how this cannot be hot fixed, such a blatantly harsh issue. Hopefully they update asap.

Just happened to me too as soon as I've changed the Parking sports to type "Gate-A", without it was working, but the ATC was not recognizing the gate.

With type "Gate-A" the Jetway disappears.

I got excited, I tried this. It didn't matter which gate is selected. Even tried assigning a unique gate one for each. Still doesn't solve.

We've actually got some airports that work perfectly after SU5/SU6 - f/e UUEE Sheremetyevo. However, when copy/pasting those same jetway models to other locations (like Washington KDCA) those very same models do not work.

Yup, we have the same rig on previous airport that works fine - the same rig (but different textures) do not show up on our current airport.

Yes we fixed issues related to the jetways not connecting.

Regarding the release date, I can't give more details than the official website, which states "late october" :
