Hangar Screenshot Tool in FSDev mode not working

Hello Team Asobo,

MSFS Camera Tool for making required MS Store Hangar Screenshots does not work on my computer. It blinks, you see the plane for a split second with white background, and gone. It does not save anywhere on my computer. Others have this issue. (Google and you will find them). Mine hasnt function since several updates back. I have been able to make some by quickly using Windows Key + Print Screen, then I crop and fix the image. I can only do this if in Windows mode, and not in full screen. If in full screen (touching the edges of the monitor), the screen shot is too quick to screen-grab. If its smaller then the desktop, you see the plane for a full second and can physicaly take a screen-grab.

Bottom line, its broke on some computers and not working, and these are needed by MS Store for the Marketplace aircraft selection screenshots.

This issue exist if you have more than one monitor with different resolution.
If you need take screenshot, turn one display off, or set same resolution for both.
Also same issue exist on wide screen displays. Solution. Set standard resolution: e.g. 1920x1080

Hello.


What's your monitor configuration exactly?
I'm using a 4K + FullHD monitor setup for testing and the png files are correctly generated.

I have same configuration. And i also cant take thumbnail.

When i want take thumbnail - i turn off one display (via nvidia cpl) then take thumbnail.

Full spec:
was Nvidia 2080ti now 3090
24' AOC FHD monitor at 1920x1080x144Hz
48' LG 48C1 at 4Kx120Hz

Taking thumbnail cause fast blink and nothing. If i set generate alpha, then i have zero sized files in folder.


P.S. Also ugly yellow color in thumbnail is awful

Hello.

Quick update on this. We weren't able to identify the cause of these issues on SU6.
SU7 will bring a few updates on the tool and some debugging information as well in the console.
That will probably help us to collect the info we need to understand and fix the bug.

This issue firstly introduce in SU5, dev tools for thumbnail generation broken for me from SU5. Also broken color.

Generate thumbail alpha is great idea, but why it is without shadow?It will be perfect if alfa thumbnail will be like aircraft + shadow

Hello @Mugz

Good news, we were finally able to reproduce the problem thanks to your feedback.
This was related to HDR screen management. We will push a fix for SU10.
Please test this feature again when the SU10 flighting begins and confirm us it's now working as expected for you.

So. In SU10 i cant able to take screenshot. When i click capture i got CTD immediately.

Hello @FlyingRaccoon ,
The newest 'Aircraft Capture Tool' works amazing. I am extremely impressed with it and thank you and the team for the improvements. Very well done.

There is a superb video on it at YouTube that teaches people how to work it. I no longer have issues making/taking screenshots in it and it has some very cool adjustments that you can do. Its not locked in.

You mean the ambient/environment light?

If so no, this is part of the scenery and cannot be changed dynamically.

It's possible when creating thumbnail with Transparent Background also include shadow of aircraft? May be like an option?

The issue with the Smart Docking System was identified and fixed for SU12.
Please try again as soon as SU12 flighting is available to confirm this is fixed.
