0x800706B5 after SU7

Hi.

Not able to install the SU7 on the workstation and I wonder if this is the sim's fault or the store's fault. Every time the initial 1,2GB package is correctly downloaded but just prior to installing the 0x800706B5 error appears. The same thing happens when installing via the Xbox App and via the MS Store.

I believe I checked most of the online resources in regard to the 0x800706B5 error vs MSFS but nothing really helped. There is no Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe folder so it seems like the sim is uninstalled at this stage. Did anyway have this issue with SU7?

It seems that I am not alone with the issue...

...although my employees were able to install the new version just fine.

The fsdevmodelauncher only targets the Store version of the sim, which if I understand correctly you are not using anymore (we should probably modify it so that it works like the fspackagetool, i.e. with both versions). In Steam you can add "-FastLaunch" as a "launching option" in the General tab of the sim:

Please let us know if this solves your issue.

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo

FYI: I have bought it for the second time - this time from Steam, and the Steam version works perfectly.

Normally that would happen to me at each major update with my Windows Store copy. I do not have the Steam version and I wish I did.

Anyways, this time, It installed properly (SU7). I did free myself from extra programs that used to control my computer configurations more than a month ago.

I suggest not to follow Zendesk troubleshooters because you're going to end up shooting yourself and find out what you can actually do on your end or see what the people have done in the Avsim forums. Avsim forums have positive solutions most of the time.

The Steam version works fine, but unfortunately, all controls settings are gone (again..).

Apparently, the fsdevmodelauncher does not seem to be working with SDK 16 and the Steam version. When clicking on it, nothing happens...
