GTLF objects no longer keep their material collision and road material property, can this be changed?

GTLF objects no longer keep their material collision and road material property when used as simobjects with or without animations. Even the asobo box collider looses this property when used as a simobject. Is it possible to change this so i.e. helicopters can land on these objects?

Hi GuiHuy , the internal team hasn't reported this issue, can you tell me which version of the SDK and exporter are you using, please?

Thanks

Well sure, I have used the most actual MSFS 16.2 and the present SDK version 0.13.0.

I used blender as well as 3DS Max to create the GLTF. I have built a test airport with a cube that has a collider material property and can land with a heli on. The same object used as a simobject is loosing this property and landing with a heli is not possible.

Hi GuyHuy, I just tested to export a teapot with 3dsmax( the Blender exporter is not developed by Asobo or Microsoft)

Everything works correctly on my side with 3dsmax

Can you detail the process you are using to export an asset in 3dsmax?

Opening your zip file I saw that you actually exported the tag required for the collision system

I can't see any error in your file too then

However, I suggest you to try again with the version of the SDK we will release with the PerformancePlus update

Hi, You are not taking me serious. It's not on my side it's on the sim side. Why did you stop to work on the issue? You found out that the attributes are exported to MSFS. The sim is not using these attributes according to the description so pls continue finding the error, thx.

Hello.

Since you didn't answer last lpierabella's message, we thought you had solved the issue.
I downloaded your package and I'm having a look right now.
Sorry for the delay.

Sylvain

Hello @GuiHuy

Although properly done, your collisions are disabled because you're using a SimObject and we don't handle collisions between SimObjects yet.
Any reason for using a StaticObject typed SimObject?
I suggest you use a standard library object for your helipad (collisions will then work) and create a separate SimObject if you want to add lights, effects or other SimObject specific behavior if that's possible in your case.

Regards,
Sylvain

Well yes there is a specific reason. I need the feature to animate the object and that's presently only possible when the object is a sim object. Want hangar doors to open and close through interaction with mouse click. The collision feature is important as I need a moving helicopter maintainance pad to carry a helicopter on it. Like a moving airplane carrier is being used by airplanes moving over the ocean at the same time. The doors could be used as simobject where at the same time the rest of the buildung could be a standard object. But the pad as well as the airplane carrier can not be seperated...any. Any idea itf this is a planed feature? In interaction games, it's normal that interaction between simobjects are handled. Thx for looking to my issue

Best regards Guido

Hello.

Yes we plan to allow collisions between SimObject but we want to do this right.
Maybe this will require a specific type of collision to be set in 3DS Max, maybe we'll have to do some trade off for performance, etc...
No ETA yet but not coming for SU6 or SU7 for sure.

Sylvain

Hello,

Is there any progress to your plans to allow collisions between SimObjects?

I need collision for a Hangar set as SimObject due to animations.

Separation of the object to some parts as SimObject and other parts as SceneryObject (collision is working) is not possible. The door e.g. should be animated and also should have collision.

Thanks in Advance!

Hello

I‘m exactly in the same situation like Guido. Helipads are mostly not on ground, so there is a serious need to accept collisions/road material on sim object. For that specific need for hangar door animations etc. And I know there is a political issue from Asobo/MS side to not official support blender. Everyone should use 3ds max for that. But to be honest, MSFS lives with the community. Most developers use blender for their development. The helicopter community is for sure, not so big like the airplane community, but we should also be taken seriously. MSFS was my personal reason to restart with scenery development. More consideration of the blender community would be nice.

Best,

Marco
