Aprons remove large TIN areas

Hi.

We have lately encountered an issue where adding an apron and compiling the project removes large areas of TIN. The issue is 100% repeatable.

No apron in the dev mode:

Tin is fine after compilation:

Added apron in the dev mode:

The apron is visible after compiling but a huge area of TIN is removed:

apron-sim.jpg

When this apron is moved further, the same TIN area is still excluded. I can share an XML file. It would be great if you could have a look at this as it seems to be a bug.

But there is a little bug in the scenery editor, when you apply or remove the "apply flatten" the ground geometry is not regenerated in real time... We will fix that

Hello @DrzewieckiDesign

It seems to be context specific. I tried creating an apron around Newark but didn't face that issue.

- Where are you testing this?
- Is this the default TIN or a third party product one?
- Is creating only an airport+apron in the area is enough to trigger the issue?

Of course, if you can provide me with a small sample demonstrating the issue, that would be ideal.

Regards,
Sylvain

Sylvain,

That area was created in Midway KMDW airport, Northside, on default TIN.

According to our tests, any aprons added in that area remove a large portion of TIN.

I'm able to reproduce the problem. In my case, it only occurs when the package is also installed in the Community folder.
A developer will have a look at this issue and I'll keep you updated.

Sylvain

I have investigated your package and it looks like you have activated the automatic flatten on your airport. This is using the aprons to compute the size of the zone to flatten. BTW you can see the terraforming by going to option>ground>debug terraforming.

The documentation is not really explicit on that, we will update it :)
