Yes, the FAA does specify different values. As was noted; 50 and 200 ft. intervals for taxiway lights, and, obviously, other standards for everything else.
In fact the SDK development team changed the way PAPI lights are defined way back when 2020 came out at my request because it didn’t support a spacing the FAA defined. If you can find the document defining what it should be, they’ll support it.
