Airport Hangar with multiple animations and Clickable points

I have a question, based on an Idea I have. I have managed to get an simobject to start an animation based on simvar, followed the Hangartutorial by Mamudesign. My hangar have several doors besides the big hangardoor. It whould be nice to have the possibillity to walk up to the small “personell” doors/door and just click on the door handle to start the animation of open the said door. Is it even possible to have “clickable” points in a simobject?

It is not possible

You’b better post this as an idea, you will have a ton of votes because we are asking such feature since 2020 day one.
It is incredible that a software house like Asobo- that is known to create wonderful Games (where point and click is a must)- still haven’t implemented it in MSFS… but maybe it is not so straightforward In a gian world like the planet :grinning:

Another implementation would be be an app in EFB or as in-game panels driving all the needed Lvars (some creators are already using this method to implement more features in their scenes)

Thank you Mamu, actually the Idea of the EFB is something I have thought about and started designing, so might continue on that. Another way, might be to get the animation to start if the player is close… (out of the plane, walking around) whould that be possible? Like you have in one of your videos on youtube, where you drive a car close to the hangar doors?

About the player triggering the proximity scripts
In the Dev alpha we had back in September it was possible.
Unfortunately, in later releases the ability was removed

Cross check this 3d,

Maybe we can have it back in su2 as promised, looking for the upcoming beta to check that out

Thank you for sharing your knowledge Mamu…! I am also on the beta program, so maybe we can pick up the thread again when it arrives. Whould be nice to have some way to open door animations in scenery when we in 2024 can walk outside the plane.

I posted it in the Idea group, and as of today it got 14 votes…, but I got a comment “You can put another node (e.g. a transparent box) where you want the click area for the door handle to be, and use that node as the click point, not the whole hanger door.”, I have tried to have an empty in my model, to get that area as clickable, but with no luck. Do you know if that method is even possible?

Seen that comment
Afaik it is not possible
A scenery Simobject cannot have mouserect spots

When I tried, there was a total CTD from the sdk

So are you going to crush @mamuDesign Mamu’s dreams and not post this as an idea?

It is posted as an idea
