Asobo Stock Sample Planes for Developers

Version: 1.0.84.0

We badly need a Blender model for learning on. Badly…

If we had the glTF files for it, we could import those to Blender and save as a Blender file for you.

Just a thought.

It would also be nice if a select number of Asobo ‘Tier One’ planes were available (their aircraft folders, complete) for us to use as study material. Presently, all planes are stored in VFS/encrypted…

In MSFS 2020, we could go into Asobo planes and see how things were done, see the animation key frame amounts, how instruments worked, the materials for them, for screens and windows, etc, etc. Some of those planes were invaluable and used for study to see how you guys did things.

With all planes (tier one) being locked up, encrypted, we will no longer have the ability to ‘see how things are done’.

This will hinder us model makers severely.

Have you tried using the New VFS projector?

when I use it I can see the DA62 and G2 files unencrypted. Im not sure if this will be true for every stock aircraft on release though.

+1 for a full good blender template (even with a cubic airplane)

Hello KCGB,

I tried this yesterday. Didnt work. Mine appear green and locked, encrypted when they are dropped into the folder their first time.

It appears all sections of the VFS in my Alpha are all encrypted… Were you able to open yours and roam through the glTF’s and things? Can you copy parts out to open in Blender?

Being able to open up stock Tier1 MSFS 2020 Asobo planes with Blender enabled us to see how things work, how they are animated, names for the animations so they work with stock Animation templates, amount of key frames to animate parts, etc etc etc… We need that… badly…

I can’t copy a whole folder, but I can copy individual files, or just open them from the location.
What I can’t do is open the built .gltf’s.
The .gltf is still in plain text when I open it with notepad, but I get an error that they are compressed and it’s not supported when trying to open.

Yep, thats what we found also.
