Version: FS2020 and FS2024, all versions.
Frequency: Consistently
Severity: High
Context: Simworks Studios PC-12 Legacy
Bug description: When switching between autopilot modes, the previous mode’s B:Variable does not turn off, while the autopilot A:var changes correctly. As an example:
- Tune into an ILS frequency/
- Engage Autopilot NAV mode. Let it intercept the localiser. The yellow ARM and green ENG lights will work correctly.
- Now engate APR mode using the switch. APR will correctly engage and keep tracking the localiser.
- Now click on NAV again. APR mode will turn off, but NAV mode will NOT turn on.
- Click a second time on NAV and everything will toggle correctly.
- If you click on APR again, the same symptoms as step 4 happen.
The B:Variable (not the event) that keeps track of the button state does not match the autopilot/flight director A:var state. Therefore, when you turn the mode on it will stay on even if you switch. In some cases, it will even be displayed on the tooltips.
The same behaviour can be observed in 2024 using the 2020 aircraft.
