Boats suspended above the surface of the sea

Version: 1.5.27.0

Frequency: Frequently/Consistently

Severity: High

*Marketplace package name: Not relevant

Context: With a custom terrain mesh (terraform with heightmaps)

Similar MSFS 2020 issue: Not verified

Bug description:

As you can see in the attached screenshots, some vessels are seen raised a few meters above the sea surface (about 6 meters in the model in particular).

The terraform with heightmaps has a geodetic value of 0 meters at that specific geographic location (Lat. -0.389391 Lon -90.282545).

In other places in the same custom scenario, this doesn’t happen. Perhaps it’s just due to some boat objects.

Hello @ClevererElm8055

Is it affected by swell? or the ships are always at this elevation?
There is a similar report but it’s more about an exaggerated vertical motion

Hi @FlyingRaccoon,

It doesn’t depend on the wave motion.
They’re not at the same elevation.

With or without a heightmap with terraform, the sea level elevation gap is always present.
With a heightmap with terraform, it’s a bit more pronounced.

I’ve noticed that this only affects a few specific models.

Giovanni
