CGL COLORIMETRY ISSUES (SOLVED)

Hello,

I’m facing an issue with the CGL “custom satellite imagery” in my scenery project.

I followed a tutorial explaining how to generate custom imagery from sources such as Google and Bing. The only variation in my workflow is that I used QGIS to capture the desired satellite image, cropped it in Photoshop, and then continued with the tutorial as instructed.

I then used tiles2bing to convert the tiles. In the “free flight” menu, everything looks correct — the transitions are smooth and there are no visible problems.

However, once inside the simulator, a large square outline appears at the edge of the image, creating a very harsh and unrealistic transition.

To clarify, I did not modify brightness, hue, saturation, or any other values. The imagery was captured directly from Google Satellite via QGIS.

I tried with a Bing image and it does the same thing.

I also tried it on fs24 and got the same result, except that you can see the large rectangle directly in the menu.

If masks are required, I haven’t seen anything in the SDK about it — in FSX/Prepar3D it was possible to create masks, but I don’t see how this can be done in MSFS.

Has anyone encountered this issue before, or knows how to resolve it?

PROBLEM SOLVED

You have to uncheck the background map in QGIS for Export.
