Bug description:
Hello,
We use the Coherent call GET_AIR_TRAFFIC extensively to display traffic on our aircraft avionics.
After several months of working with it, we have noticed that the list of AI objects returned by the call is very unstable. For example, as shown in the attached screenshot (debug console), the call may return eight objects at one moment, eleven one second later, and then nine the following second.
It also frequently happens that the list is completely empty for a few seconds before being populated again shortly afterward.
We are not sure whether the issue is related to the call itself or to the simulator traffic management (“Real-Time Online” selected in the simulator settings).
In any case, this behavior is problematic, as it causes traffic to repeatedly disappear and reappear on the avionics displays.
Another thing I would like to add: since SU6, it seems that the amount of traffic being returned has decreased significantly. Only traffic very close to the aircraft is now returned, whereas before we were able to see traffic farther away.
I cannot provide any data to support this, but this impression is also shared by our customers.
There is something similar that was reported by players as it’s visible in the EFB.
My own testing seem to suggest this is particularly present when the volume of traffic is high. It was relatively consistent as long as there was ~10 aircraft but I observed something similar to what you described when moving to high traffic areas with live traffic and multiplayer enabled:
Hello, @FlyingRaccoon Can we hope for a fix in SU7?
This issue has a significant impact for our customers as our fighter aircraft rely on traffic detection for a lot of their systems.
