why cant Asobo make a usable controls interface exactly the same as X-plane
the current UI is almost totally unusable , spending HOURS trying to setup controls instead of flying. PLEASE fix this

This doesn’t sound like an ‘SDK’ issue but if there was an API behind these settings (even just a documented settings config file), we’d have competition between alternative 3rd-party settings apps.

Currently there’s a basic design issue in the controls settings UI mixing up the event types, aircraft types and controller types. So instead of an absolutely clear theme:

  1. Set these controls for all planes.
  2. Set these controls for planes of a certain type e.g. helicopters (overrides 1)
  3. Set these controls for a specific plane (overrides 1 & 2)

we have a UI that jumps between themes of selecting by event type, plane type and controller type, with “set as default” and “apply to all aircraft” sub-options which are confusing given there’s no clear context.
