CTD after installing Su14 Beta and adding projected mesh to scenery project [SOLVED]

Version: SU13 & SU14(Beta) - 1.35.21.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Blocker

Context: Package in edition

Bug description:
After adding a Projected Mesh to my project the sim is crashing to desktop immediately after the loading screen is finished. It first occurred after I tested the SU14 Beta aswell doing a Win10 Security Update. I then removed the community folder, even removed the project mesh out of the package but the sim is still continuing to crash immediately after the loading screen. This issue continues even after reinstalling, also on another computer where never be the package was in contact with. The only time the ctd issue was resolved was after re-installing Win10, but immediately after loading the package (this time cleaned from the pm in the state how it worked before) and starting to fly the sim crashes and continues to crash. The Package worked before flawless and had never a ctd.

I already run every step on Zendesk and also in the forum for troubleshooting but nothing helped.

In the event viewer the error path is linked to the flightsim.exe with the error code in the title
Repro steps:

  1. Building the package with fspackagetool

  2. Loading the sim and select airport

3.Opening the project and building the package again

  1. Click on gate or runway and press fly

  2. The flight is loading and displaying about 1 second the intro camera animation then crashes

Hello @Leviathan ,

We will need the dump file and your package to investigate
See sections 2) and 3) here

Hi Boris, thank you for your reply I will send you the files soon

Hello @Leviathan

The crash does not seem to be related to your airport package, but to UI panels.

According to your repro steps, you don’t even have time to manipulate in game panels before you encounter the crash.
Also, can you confirm you have no other addons installed? (Especially UI related addons)

Sylvain

Hi Sylvain,

thank you for your quick response, exactly there is no time at all to interact. I don’t had anything installed since I re-installed my whole Windows 10 (reformatted the drive). I was doing on prevoius projects html/js development for a customer (EFB with Api access to Navigraph and Simbrief and AVWX) but on their beta testers it’s running with no issues, but anyway, during the crash dump I send to you there wasn’t anything inside the community folder. I also don’t remember installed anything before related to the ingame UI panels.

I double checked it yesterday with the SU14 Update also. Installed the sim new → works on the first flight no crash. I then build and opened my package → as soon the loading screen is over it crashes immediately. I reviewed the crash dump inside WinDbg and its referencing to the same error as in the dump I send you.

So I think I found the error or how to solve it, by deleting the cloudstorage, documented here in this link.

I think this topic can be marked as solved, but maybe its good if you put it in your backlog, since its a bit worrying if you account data is able to corrupt the coherent module

Thank you @Leviathan for the follow up.
I have forwarded the information to the devs.

I’ll move this topic to the Questions category as there is little the SDK support team can do about this particular issue.

Regards,
Sylvain
