CTD when Generating Trees after Project Build

Version: 1.8.10.0

Frequency: Frequently

Severity: High

Bug description: Very frequently when building the project from inside the sim at the end of the process when the trees are being generated MSFS2024 crashes to desktop, I’ve been noticing this since the beginning of my development journey and it continues to happen with 1.8.10.0, just recently noticed that this could be related with the phase of generating the trees itself.

I’ve tested for some time building the project with vegetation hidden in the scenery editor rendering settings and the same problem didn’t occur, reaching to the conclusion that the generation of the trees process may be the cause of the problem.

Sometimes also when enabling vegetation after the project build process and as soon as I enable the vegetation there’s a crash to desktop.

Around the red circles the trees were being generated at the time of the CTD.

Again at the time the (large vegetation) toggle was checked there was a CTD.

I’ve had this problem for multiple sim versions and SDK versions, with multiple GPU drivers, so I don’t think is related to one specific sim or GPU driver version.

For context and in case it’s related to a specific GPU, I’m using an AMD RX 7900 XT.

Although there’s a work around to this problem, hiding vegetation for project build, would be great if this could be solved so projects can be build without disabling vegetation temporarily. As even doing so when enabling vegetation again may cause a CTD too.

Repro steps: Build a project and notice that sometimes just after the project finish building and the trees are being generated the sim crashes to desktop. Or Hide (large vegetation) and (ground details) before project build, enable after project build and notice the same may happen.

Hello @Bikuafuro ,

Can you please enable the dump for your GPU?
For that, open Radeon Developer Panel, then go to Crash Analysis and enable Hardware Crash Analysis.
The dump will normally be named: crash_dump_.txt

And then when a crash occurs, send us the file.

Hello @PowerGecko,

I just sent the file via private message to PrivateContent, thanks for taking a look at this.

Best regards.

Hello @Bikuafuro ,

Thanks for the dump, the bug has been created on our side.
