Default Approach Lights and PAPI Light Models Missing

Hi,
I have not manage to repro the issue yet. But @MichaelWimma-RWProfiles, if it happens again, can you try to disable and enable the “enable terraforming” option in the “Ground option” ? It will force to refresh the ground altitude. Tell me if it fixes, it will help me narrow down the issue.

Regards,
Xavier / Asobo

@darwikey
For me it happens about 99% of the time so yes, I will try that now. I think for me it has only worked once or twice out of the probably more than 100 times I have tried. I said it’s inconsistent, but for me it is extremely rare to get meshes to show up.

So this is how it looks like for me after disabling and enabling terraforming like you said.

This time, in the editor, all meshes show up - default and custom

This is the built package before disabling and re enabling terraforming - No meshes at all!

and it is the same after disabling and re enabling terraforming - Again, no meshes at all! Not even default ones.

I had posted this bug in another thread and for me the issue still persists with custom taxiway mesh (2024 native airport project) but it is very inconsistent. In the case where they do not load in, if I drone away from the airport maybe a half mile or so (or fly a traffic pattern) and return, they suddenly appear.

For all struggling with the same issue and to keep you in the loop: I sent my test project to Xavier and he was able to repro it. It is indeed a bug and he identified it as well as a potential second bug.

What “fixed” it for my project in the meantime was to add a Runway object to the scenery. This wasn’t set up in this project as it was just a test project.

He said a fix will be avail in a future update but not SU3

Best,
Michael

I’m also struggling with this issue - I really hope they can fix it soon.

I have a runway object and still encounter the issue, so it seems like there is something else at play here which causes it.

Hello

There are fix candidates for this issue in SU4 beta.
Please check and let us know if this is all good for you.

Sylvain

Hello,

again, I am wondering why you constantly change the topic of a thread to “fixed”, before you got confirmation by the ones who reported it. Because I sadly have to report that this is still broken…

This is with SU4 - Game version 1.6.3.0

EDIT:
it seems to only affect 2020 native sceneries now. I checked KPVP (inibuilds, 2024 native) Which also had them missing before, and here they show up now.

However, as you can see above, for our 2020 native Springfield, it is still not working.

Hi!

I just jumped in the SU4 since it is in the patch notes this issue is fixed. Sadly it is still there. For me: when i first load in a flight, lights are missing, then i end the flight, load in again, and the taxi lights and the papi lights are there. It occurs at every scenery… Please fix this annoying bug already!

The fixed tag is used to indicate that a fix has been released to the public flighting version of the game.
It helps us manage and track the number of issues, feedback, statistics, and other related aspects.

However, if the OP never comes back to their topic (which happens quite often), the topic would remain indefinitely tagged as bug-logged. This isn’t really helpful for us and for you.

As you can see here, we have updated the bug back to bug-logged again since we are tracking the need to revisit it and verify what went wrong with the fix.

I hope this makes sense.

Now regarding the issue,
We are reviewing it and I will update you when I know more.

Regards,
Boris

Ok yes it actually does make sense. And I understand that it is frustrating when people don#t come back. It helps no one hence why I always do come back and am a pain sometimes because all I want is to help improve the sim. So please don’t take offence, I was just genuinely curious.

Thanks for checking it out again like I said I suspect it’s got something to do with 2020 sceneries because for PVD, which is 2024 native it seems to be fixed, but SGF, which is 2020 native, is still “borken”

Latest SU4 patch, issue is still there…

Can confirm. It’s getting a bit tiresome at this point considering I originally reported this almost a year ago now.

This is Sado (RJSD) - one of the handcrafted airports in WU20 - in v1.6.11.0:

New patch, old bug. Are u working on it?

Note that not all airports exhibit this behavior. This is Rishiri (RJER), another custom WU20 airport in v1.6.11.0:

Along with other issues, yes.
No ETA for now.
I will update this topic when I have some news to share.

Thank you for the feedback !

Please tell me this is fixed in the final realease. This is affecting so many of my favorite airports and keeping me from moving to the new sim.

This issue is affecting my DAAG Algiers airport as well. Customers who just moved to 2024 are complaining…

@here

A fix has been made and it will be included in the next flighting SU5.
I will ping you again when it’s ready to test.

Boris

Great news, do you have any idea what triggers it in some airports but not others? Perhaps I can issue an update before SU5 ships.
