Dear MSFS dev support team,
sometimes I get the message “invalid child” when I try to save the scenery in the scenery editor, see screenshot attached. But when I compile&build&export the airport project in the project editor, no errors are highlighted, all is fine, and the scenery works in the community folder.
What could be the reason for this error message, and how can I identify the problem MSFS has with it? How can I fix this issue?
Can you check your “TaxiName”? name=“0” seems strange to me.
I had this problem recently when I forgot the name of a taxiway. Number “0” doesn’t sound good. Leave it empty or put any letters… may be it will resolve the problem…
EDIT:
My problem was for a “taxiway parking” object when I forgot to put a number. Anything but “0” is OK..
We will then complete the full taxiway net from the runway to the parking stands, and hope that this may fix also the “invalid child” problem … Thanks for your feedback, appreciated!
It’s always been a requirement that taxiways must be fully connected, and all parking spots have to be connected. I highly recommend being precise in your taxiway map, or you’ll likely cause CTD’s for users even if they’re not even using your airport.
