How are the default simpropcontainers created for scenery?

I have a question: How are the SimPropContainers made for the Asobo and Microsoft scenery objects? Are they created in Devmode, or i there a special tool used outside the sim? For example, there are dozens of oil rigs that are SPCs. Did an in-house artist make these with DevMode, or another method.

I ask because I’m trying to promote the use of SimPropContainers, as they resolve many of the LOD issues for scenery objects. If this is the future direction encouraged by Asobo for modelers, we could use some expert advice and perhaps a tutorial or two.

Hello @rhumbaflappy

SimPropContainers are edited directly in the SceneryEditor
SimPropContainer Objects

You can create your own by creating a SimpropContainerLib asset group.

For the modeling part, some specific instructions are provided here:

So the oilrig containers were made using the Devmode Scenery editor?

Yes they were.
