Given that the World is now fully modular in 2024, and we have an Avatar mode, what’s preventing external, non-user-aircraft SimObjects from being interactable?
For example, one could create a ground vehicle as a modular object, that sits next to user aircraft, and that one can add clickspots to run animations (eg. opening doors, or triggering simple animations) while in Avatar mode. However, this is necessarily going to be tied to user aircraft, as interactable XML Logic cannot exist on standalone “Misc”-type simObjects.
Would be cool to have SimObjects, either placed as scenery objects or spawned via WASM, that could be interacted with by the user in Avatar mode. I think that would open the door for many new creative uses. These objects, running their own XML Scripts, could set global LVars or AVars to interact with the aircraft.
