I can report the same. Even though I “left” the limitless preview, and uninstalled the game before release, purchased the Premium deluxe, I’m still locked down to this “limited” dev mode with all modes locked.

same for me, I only have access to the 11.9 GB version wich I presume is the alpha build

Same here, shows 1.0.88 even though dev alpha was uninstalled before. Only aircraft selectable is the DA62, the other helicopter is gone

@FlyingRaccoon ?

guy double check the Microsoft Store, opt-out from preview and uninstall is not enough because that simply remove the game from the pc, but until you download the right one from the store, launching from Xbox redownloads the old alpha

Hello @here,

As @mamuDesign said,

  1. Uninstall the game
  2. Opt out in the Xbox Insider Hub
  3. In doubt, reboot
  4. Start the xbox app and install the correct title. In case you have the same version (Standard), you should see something like “New update available”

If you still encouter an issue, create a ticket on Zendesk or the forums

Hope it helps

Boris

Hello everyone,

Let me share here some additional troubleshooting steps tech support people from Zendesk suggested:

Following instructions in this page:
How to troubleshoot download & Installation issues – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support

People were suggested to:

  • Run the Gaming Services Repair tool
  • Reset the Store
  • Update the Xbox & Gaming Services apps
  • Update Windows

Regards,
Sylvain

EDIT WITH POSSIBLE WORKAROUND:

Sign out of Windows Store App but keep yourself signed into Xbox App. 11.9GB update will take place, it does indeed launch 1.1.17.0. Dont know how long it will allow me to stay signed out of the windows store, but I was able to load in to the live game.

I’m still having this wretched problem, despite all the solutions posted above.

Also I just tried your workaround (signing out of the Windows store)… however XBOX does not allow me to install anything, citing an issue with the Microsoft Store app logged out.

Patiently waiting for a fix but definitely frustrating.

Try signing into both, downloading whatever it wants and even let it do its 10.5GB limitless ‘update’ if it wants. once you actually have the sim installed, then try signing out of the Windows Store app, but leaving the Xbox app open.

There will be a few mins before the Xbox app gives you an error about not being signed into the store, but since you already have the game installed, you can launch it, which will prompt a 11.9GB update to the live sim, and not limitless.

Did you check for updates from the MS store? DO NOT check for update from the xbox app. Use the Microsoft Store.

Absolute legend. It worked… really appreciate it!

This method fixed mine … forced the update after logging out of the store and staying logged into xbox which indeed forced the error then the PLAY button turned immediately into an update button.

Thank you!

Nice! I did notice it skips any first-time setup we would normally encounter and throws you right to the main menu. In addition, I’m still uncertain if and how this affects the syncing of key binds. But at the very least, we can log into the new sim, experience what is there. I have not yet closed the sim so no idea what happens when attempting to play again. But at least this work around is confirmed to work.

Hey guys, the “signing out of MS Store and updating the sim in Xbox” absolutely worked.
However, you can’t sign back into MS Store anymore. Because once you sign back in, xbox will update the sim back to 1.0.88 immediately…

Anyone figured out how to make it not to update the sim back to 1.0.88?

Meo

Hmm yes, you are right … this is isnt ideal.

Something needs to be done on the Microsoft Store end to sort this out. We are dead in the water with this issue.

Thank you. This at least works temporarily.

Hello everyone,

I posted more extensive guidelines provided by Microsoft here:

Please also note that version 1.0.88.0 should boot fine now.
