Linux State of Work

Hello all! I have one simple question.

I tried the DevMode experience on Linux (Nobara 44) and I must admit it was flawless and captivating. I could work no problem using the SDK and less than minimal setup using the Steam Version of MSFS2024.

BUT

The compiler crashes. I tried all the fidgeting, asked Google, AI LLMs, went all in with a deep-search using both DeepSeek and Gemini. And everytime the answer I get is the same.

Dual Boot or Virtual Machine.

Which, I do get, but for a smooth workflow is not ideal. having to quit the sim, compile on a VM or Second boot, re-start and enter the sim and test changes can be tedious.

Seen the amount of people who’s moving on to Linux lately, can we have a native compiler working on the Penguin’s OS? I’m not sayin’ “C’mon, it’s easy”, but surely it isn’t having to rebuild all tools.

I might be the only one in the situation now, but I have some idea of how many people are discouraged to move onto Linux because of tech barriers, when they should not simply be there to begin with. We all love linux, and for how one can say “Hey, MSFS is Microsoft”, I just wanted to make clear, MS is one of the major Linux donors so far, so nothing contradictory going on here
Thanks for listening
