Bug description: Multiplayer pilots are positioned incorrectly, trailing behind the aircraft by ~10-20m. The issue affects all FlyingIron’s 2020 aircraft when flown in FS2024 multiplayer. The issue seems to only affect multiplayer aircraft, and not the user themselves.
Repro steps:
- Have one or more players load into any FlyingIron aircraft listed above.
- Observe the pilot model position from another aircraft

Hello @Donny6171
I think this is a duplicate of Avatar visible to other players even if not configured in the aircraft.cfg file of MSFS2020 back on SU2 - [MSFS 2024] Bug Reports / Aircraft - MSFS DevSupport.
From what I can see, FlyingIron aircraft do not necessarily use the avatar and have their own pilot models, but it is the avatar that is visible in multiplayer.

Sylvain
Hi @FlyingRaccoon
Thanks for your response but I don’t think it’s a duplicate. Our aircraft have both setup - you can toggle between the MSFS avatar and our own pilot model.
The avatar shows correctly in 2020’s multiplayer, but not in 2024, as seen in the screenshots.
If you need any further info then please let me know!
Thanks,
Alex
Hello @Donny6171
You can toggle between your own model and an Asobo model, but the Asobo model is not the avatar.
It is the Pilot_Female_Casual you have configured in aircraft.cfg, which is the 2020 way of displaying a pilot.
The model you see spawned in multiplayer is its avatar and it’s spawned in addition of your pilot, just like described in the other bug report.
So for example, when testing on the Spitfire I have one of those 2 models displayed:
But what my colleague sees is my avatar:
on top of the already displayed usual model:
(Some Spitfires may have been harmed in the making of these pictures)
If you’re not convinced, we can leave this bug report open and I’ll ping you when a fix is done for the other bug report so we can confirm this also solves this one.
Regards,
Sylvain
