MSFS 2024 SimpleAircraft thumbnails

Could someone help interpret the SDK docs info for thumbnails in a ‘simple’ aircraft? I.e. the docs page suggests a separate thumbnail folder in the base aircraft folder but a “thumbnail/thumbnail.png” wouldn’t contain info about which livery that thumbnail is for.

Is that myaircraft/thumbnail folder supposed to have internal subdirectories for each livery?

Or are there still thumbnail*.png files inside each livery folder.

Or are there now thumbnails files in the livery folders AND that new ‘thumbnail’ folder, if so what’s the difference ?

My package is 2024, but not ‘modular’.

edit - I’ve just looked at the ‘built’ package in the project Packages folder and the thumbnail folder from PackageSources... myaircraft/thumbnail doesn’t get put in the built package…

Hello @B21 ,

So there is a little mistake in the documentation; the bug has been logged on our side.

Here are the correct step :

  • Find the texture folder
  • In this folder, paste the image and name it “thumbnail”.
  • If you are in the plane selection menu, exit it.
  • Build the project

After that, you can return to the plane selection and you should see the new thumbnail.
