MSFS2020 aircraft - Sound mutes when pressing 'Back' or 'Resume' to return to the flight after opening the menu during flight

Version: 1.3.23.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High

Marketplace package name: if applicable

Context: Daedalus BS214, mounted from Community, when switching from flight to menu.

Similar MSFS 2020 issue: In MSFS2020 it works fine.

Bug description: In MSFS2024, the aircraft sound mutes when pressing ‘Back’ or ‘Resume’ to return to the flight after opening the menu during flight. If you go to menu a second time and then return to flight the sound comes back to normal. It acts like a sound toggle. This behavior occurs consistently and affects immersion.

Repro steps: 1. Load the aircraft in Free Flight on the runway.
2. Press ‘ESC’ (Toggle Pause) to open the in-game menu. Then click ‘Back’ or ‘Resume’ to return to the cockpit. Notice that the aircraft sounds are muted.
3. Press ‘ESC’ again to open the menu. Click ‘Back’ or ‘Resume’ to return to the cockpit once more. This time, the sounds return to normal.

Hello @Arantis_Sim

We suspect this is a regression that occured when we transitioned between Wwise 2019 and 2022, in relation to one of the voice advanced settings:

Can you check if disabling the limit sound instances to: checkbox and reexporting your 2020 package soundbank before mounting the package in 2024 solves the problem?

Sylvain

Good to know, thank you for the feedback.
We will investigate this further and see if this can be addressed on our side, so that updating the 2020 package is not required.

Sylvain
