Version: SDK 1.7.3
Frequency: Consistently
Severity: High
Context: Using MultiExporter within Max (any version)
Bug description:
Over the months since FS24 has been released, MultiExporter has become increasingly slower after each iteration. At this point it’s so painfully slow it’s severely affecting our pipeline and workflow. Examples:
If you have a terminal building that has multimaterial, the export process seems to dramatically increase. One of our terminals took TWO hours to export. When the terminal is detached my materials, it exports in 30 seconds. This makes absolutely no sense. In the first 3-4 months of FS24, this was not the case at all. Why does it take so much longer when a building has multimaterial? This happens whether or not it has LODs.
Apart from that, it’s takes forever for Multimaterial to start if you have a complex scene. And the most frustrating part is editing anything related to LODs. In the MultiExporter window, if you edit an LOD number, the loading bar reloads and says “Loading Objects”, which can take over a minute long. If you have to edit multiple LOD numbers, this becomes an infuriating process that takes all your time. Why does it need to scan ALL the objects in the entire file, just to edit a simple LOD number?

What happened? This tool is unfortunately essential for us to export our assets. It used to be very fast relatively speaking in FS2020, and certainly more tolerable in the early months of FS24 SDK versions. **
