My custom CGL imagery doesn't show after SU1

Thanks Robin, a lot of scenery is broken at the moment across the board in 2024.
We are likely in for several months wait however.

@FlyingRaccoon let us know if you need any other examples. We have a few as well.

Hi @FlyingRaccoon, is there an update on this problem? Will it make SU3

Hello @HybridNZ and everyone else.

There are ongoing discussions on how this can be addressed right now, so I cannot guarantee any fix for SU3.
I will update this discussion if we manage to deploy a fix candidate in one of the flighting builds.

The issue occurs when you have multiple LODs covering the same area.
Lower LODs are supposed to be auto generated from highest LOD tiles on package build.
When your sources already provide the parent tile, they end up being duplicated in the output CGL.
Although invalid, this was tolerated by the MSFS 2020 CGL loader.
This is no longer the case in MSFS 2024 and aerials are no longer loaded.

Removing the parent tiles from your 2020 or 2024 package sources and rebuilding the package should solve the problem but we are looking for a way to handle this without requiring any modifications on your side.

Regards,
Sylvain

Thank you, Sylvain, I appreciate the info! This morning I’m able to finally see my aerial image again, so I can continue on a project knowing that it’ll work well. I’d be happy to rebuild all my CGLs without LODs, but I guess other developers would want to wait for a solution which doesn’t involve changing their build.
