Painted Lines / Aprons - Texture Glitch

Version: 1.1.10.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Low

Context:

Editing an airport scenery in the FS2024 SDK.

Bug description:

When either using my built scenery package, or editing in the Scenery Editor, custom textured ‘mini aprons’ that I use for ground markings show a kind of phantom line on one edge of the bounding. This behaviour was not present in FS2020. The texture in question that was edited in photoshop has no other painted pixels in the rest of the image other than the subject, in my case, the red text marking.

This behaviour is also the same for painted lines. This can be seen when using a ‘Service Dashed’ painted line which uses the default texture with no custom material applied. This is even more obvious, as there is a clear thin white line drawn between each section. This occurs at all zoom levels, even when up close.

Repro steps:

Use a ‘Painted Line’ object of type ‘Service Dashed’ and observe the white stripe present between main sections of the line.

Bump, just to ask if anyone here is experiencing the same issue? It is present in the latest sim patch too.

Anyone at all having this? I can’t be the only one having it as people MUST use painted lines in their sceneries. Anyone else who’s willing to help recreate my problem?

The post right next to yours at the moment…

Indeed, it seems to be the same issue as the one mentioned above.

I’ve added a link to this topic in the issue I created in our backlog.

Regards,
Boris

This issue is still occurring now in latest SU3 release.

I don’t believe it is the same issue as the one previously linked. The issue occurs with painted lines becoming linked despite this not being intended. I’ve noticed it with the ‘Service Dashed’ variant of painted lines. Can anyone else recreate?
