Payload Quick Fill and Individual Reset to Zero Not Updating SimVars in Modular Aircraft

Version: 1.7.27.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Blocker

**Bug description:
**
When using the payload system, setting values to zero does not correctly update the underlying SimVars in certain aircraft.

Using the quick fill slider to bring payload to zero updates the tablet/UI to show zero, but the SimVar values remain at their previous amounts. The same issue occurs when adjusting payload individually: setting one station to zero works initially, but subsequent stations do not update correctly when set to zero.

This behavior has been reproduced in two separate custom aircraft (one released and one in development), both showing identical results.

Testing in default aircraft shows mixed behavior. The issue does not occur in the Cessna 152, where payload resets to zero correctly. However, the issue is present in both versions of the DA62 (default and SDK), where payload values fail to reset to zero as described.

Based on this, the issue appears to be related to modular aircraft systems rather than a single aircraft implementation.

Additional note:
An inconsistent interaction was also observed between cargo and passenger payload. After setting cargo to zero (where it remains stuck at the previous value in the SimVar), adjusting passenger weight can cause the system to “unstick” and update the cargo correctly.

For cross-referencing, I’ve posted about the bug on the main forums too. I’m surprised to see it doesn’t happen in the standard 152. It does happen in my custom 152 variant, and cost me a week of development time because I was setting up contact points based on what I thought was empty weight.

Hey @Flysimware,

On my side, I can’t reproduce the problem, I also tested the C172 and I observe the expected behavior (see the video).

Is there something specific in your repro steps I am not doing?

Best regards,
Romain

It’s cargo that is not going to zero in the simvars when removing payload. But then updating the passengers makes the value in the cargo update. So yes your testing wrong.

Hey, @Flysimware ,

Sorry for the mistake.
I’ve reproduced the bug on the DA62 on my side.
The bug has been logged on our side.

Best regard,
Romain
