Porthole Material Problem in Blender

Hello everyone!

I’m a beginner for MSFS and having issues setting up the porthole material (parallax window) in Blender for MSFS2024. I believe I prepared as mentioned in the SDK but it does not look good, I can’t see the interior texture (emissive).

I made a bigger version of the window to see better in-game. Things I tried:

  • Made sure its vertex normals are pointing horizontally.
  • Checked without Albedo, ORM or normal map to see if one of them causing the issue.
  • Everytime I try something I click “Clean ALL in project” and “Build ALL in project” ingame devmode.
  • I use Blender 5.1.1 but also checked with 4.5.11 LTS, same issue occurs.

Any help is appreciated. I shared my textures below.

From below angles, even normal maps doesn’t show, it just looks like a fully transparent material.

Name of the material in Blender is super confusing by the way, there is a “Parallax Window” and “Porthole” materials but Porthole is explained under Parallax Window in the SDK page !?

Hi @fiIibis ,

Did you set the emissive value in your porthole material ?
I was able to make it work in blender 4.5 LTS

Regarding the Parallax Window title, it’s because the material is using the parallax shader.
I’ll see if we can update this with something less confusing.

Hi @Boris , emissive values look like they’re at default. Which parameter should I adjust, and what should it be set to? Or did you mean something different?

My bad, I was refering to the “Emissive Color” (I put mine in white)
Any chance you could provide us with the porthole .blender with textures ? I will investigate.
