Here’s what I’m seeing, trying to place vegetation polygons. Prior to the SU release, on the beta, I wasn’t able to get vegetation polys to work on the edge of my airport without covering the road with trees, even using a vegetation exclude on the road, so I deleted them for the time-being.
Experimenting today, it’s apparent that if my texture poly has priority, my vegetation polygon doesn’t work, and vice versa. Plus, the vegetation poly’s biome override affects all surrounding vegetation, looks roughly a kilometre diameter, even though my polygons are much smaller.
If I change the poly properties from vegetation to terraforming it behaves the same way, so it isn’t restricted to my two polygon types.
I have a video showing this, but if others have the same problem then you might be aware of it already. There are a couple of recent reports of vegetation issues, but I don’t think that my issue has been reported.
Hello @GodzoneVF ,
Could you please send us the video.
On my side this is working.
OK, cheers, Romain.
After a bit more testing, I discarded my original video, as it complicated the issue a bit. I’ve attached a quick new video which shows what happens with polygon priority.
Basically, if any texture polygon has a higher priority than my vegetation polys, none of my vegetation polys work. However in practice I can just make sure that vegetation polys have a higher priority, so it isn’t really a problem.
The real issue for me is that I can’t get rid of the bushes on the road, which seems to be a vegetation exclusion problem. I think I might have seen a previous bug report for this? If not I’ll post it separately. These bushes existed in the default scenery.
Funnily enough, the bushes on the road will disappear if I give any texture poly a higher priority than vege polys, but I lose all my trees.
Are there other ways to make sure that roads don’t have trees?
Here’s the video showing what happens when I raise the priority of any texture poly.
I know I’d minimised the vegetation on the road in my previous project, so I’ve just tried the same ‘solution’ here. I changed the vegetation exclusion polygon to biome ‘shrub5’, and the size to 0.01, and most of it is now gone, just a few spindly bushes in the middle of the road.
But a working vegetation exclusion would be much more effective.
Or maybe an empty biome…
I remember someone used a Semi Desert City biome to exclude stubborn vegetation.
Thanks, I tried that this morning, but it did have some scraggly trees left behind. So I tried a few more likely candidates, settled on shrubs6, moved it a little, and now it’s a perfectly acceptable New Zealand road.
My lone protester can go home now.

Hello @GodzoneVF
So the problem has been reproduced and logged on our side.
We will let you know when the fix is available.
Hello @GodzoneVF
The fix is now avalaible on SU7 beta.
