Required to Click "Scenery Editor" When Interacting with Objects

I’m not sure if I got the right category, so please feel free to move this if you like.

Here’s my problem. Before a few weeks ago (it seems anyway) I could place an object, click the Gizmo tool, and IMMEDIATELY interact with it (Translate, Rotate, Scale, etc). It seems that for a few weeks now, when I place an object or want to work with it, I have to:

  1. Click the Object
  2. Click Gizmo
  3. Select the desired option (Translate for example)
  4. Click the Scenery Editor tab
  5. Interact with the Object

I’m not sure why I have to click the Scenery Editor tab now, but it’s pretty hard to get used to. I’m hoping I screwed up something in my setup to require this, and if that’s the case, I’m more than happy to plead ignorant. Yeah, it’s a first-world problem, but if I could fix it, I’d sure love to.

Any ideas why this is happening now? Many thanks

I found the problem, and I hope this helps anyone else who might run into this in the future. I had my Scenery Editor box merged with the Object, Properties, and Gizmo boxes. Of all things, ChatGPT told me that in some cases, having these boxes merged could cause this problem. I separated them and made the Scenery Editor its own box, and lo and behold, the problem cleared.
