Context:texture folder with Windows Thumbs.db files
Similar MSFS 2020 issue:No similar issue
Bug description: If a Windows Thumbs.db file is present in one of the texture folders, the SDK will expect an associated .xml file, causing the Package Validation to fail. Since these Thumbs.db files are automatically generated by Windows and can be difficult to delete at times, could they be ignored during the build process?
do you have system files visible in windows settings?
if not then they are leftovers from a copy/paste or whatever and should be removed if you can see them
ive not had this issue (not since winNT-Vista days anyway) and i cant see these, by default, Hidden Windows System files
it should not be processing Hidden System files afaik, or i should say it (the sdk) has never done that with me
the last time i even saw a thumb.db was from like a windows 8 / NT using compression, so files i downloaded from the internet for FSX years ago
these where not used, leftovers like that i could easily delete manually
since win10/11 i have not seen them be a problem like this
maybe look at your thumbnail settings, these are tied to the ‘thumbnail view’ of your folder settings but im not exactly sure how-
im pretty sure they can be disabled but that would likely be a windows setting
edit: are you sure you dont have a bad or misnamed file (a readme doc or pdf maybe?) ? that error doesnt list a specific file
any file that doesnt belong will throw that error, they have become more strict about these kind of things in 2024
