Several Problems with Carreer Compatibility tool

Version: 1.16.23

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Blocker

Context: Mounted from Community and running the career compatibility tool

Bug description:

There is a message on the carrer compatibility logs that I do not understand, neither I can find it on any available documentation:

For the dressing Charter Service VIP (PRCPLC) ”Equitpment Does not Match requirements: PRC / PRC_VIPEquiptment”

What does this even mean? and how I fix it?

Then, as I understand in the documentation for the SDK, I should be able to configure a small / medium plane for passengers services (COFPCC), but it complains I have less than 20 seats? that surely must be a bug right with the carrer tool? or the documentation is yet again wrong? and for passengers now we need always more than 20 seats? but then, how small regionals would work with this? example Emb121’s, King Airs, PC12, PC24, etc? they will have less than 20 pax..

I am also unable to set it for Charter Services Private, which should be pretty standard since it is a Phenom 300E which in the real world is not only certified for Single Pilot Operations, but is also used for charter services quite often, and yet, because the MTOW of the plane, the report tells me is a Complex aircraft and cannot be used for PRCPSO.

The aircraft IRL for private charters uses a shared seat for copilot, yet this complains about it, fine I can remove it, but I am passing feedback, so you guys understand these rules are not lining up with real world operations of products we are makingfor the platform.

This is a Pehnom 300E guys, MTOW 18551 Lbs, used worldwide to charter privately, charter VIP and also transfer passengers, is pretty much standard operations of this aircraft.

I am finding I have put an awful a lot of work and effort configuring the Pax workflow, the graphs, everything, and I cannot get anything in carreer mode to let me use it? at this stage I am about to give up and just not configure the product for carreer mode anymore, this is too much work and too limited and too difficult to use folks.

I would like to know, why I cannot use it for PAX and how I fix the PRC_VIPEquiptment issue since I cannot find anything in the SDK related to that dressing code.

I can provide a project if required, but I sent it before in the past, your team should have this project in your internal librariers, if not, advise and I can resend.

Thanks for the help,
Raul

In principle you should have a “Specialization” and an “Equipment” tab in the tool. When the first one mentiond that you are not compatible with “XYZ Equipment”, you can switch to the other tab and locate the said equipment (maybe a “Goto” button would help here).

For instance I have run the tool on the DA62 (which is compatible with the PRC/PRC_VIPEquipment), and when switching to the “Equipmnent” tab I could see:

I suspect that in your case you do not have premium liveries, which seems to be confirmed by the first red line (“Premium constraint does not match requirements”).

Now, if I look at the documentation for this type of activity: Charter Service

I see the following:

Clicking on the hyperlink takes me to: aircraft.cfg

We are still working on making all these messages easier to understand.

I checked the constraints used by the tool and it looks like it always considers COFPCC to be for airliners - I need to talk to one of my colleagues about this. Unfortunately he is OOO today but he will be back on Monday.

@SimbolFSReborn

There is actually an error in the documentation - this page mixes what needs to be done for an aircraft to have passengers in its cabin in Free Flight and the COFPCC mission constraints. I have discussed this with @Nocturne and he is fixing this as we speak.

The bad news is that COFPCC is only for airliners - we had other variants in the works for small and medium aircraft (with different six-letters code) but these are on hold for now (I don’t know if we plan to resume work on these either at this stage).

Apologies for wasting your time on this. :frowning:

Hi Eric,

Many thanks, ok I can fix the premium, the message confused me because two lines of errors. So now that I understand is related to the “premiun category” I can take action, that’s fine.

Regarding Passengers and Chraters, this needs review, you guys effectively telling us that, medium / regional small planes will never transfer passengers? this is very limited.. PC12’s, Caravans, etc. have less than 20 passengers and service lots of regions around the world, specially in the careabean areas, I understand we have a limitation now, but surely telling us the news that it will not be even expanded is not going to encourage 3rd party developers to keep pushing carrer mode in MSFS 2024, we have so many limitations already and hearing this is not encouraging.

Effectively, all I can setup for this Phenom 300E is the premium VIP Charter and nothing else, is one of the most popular jets in the industry, with firms like netjets and many others having hundreds of these in service and it will very limited in the carrer tool.

So what’s the encouragement here? hope you guys see my point and my feedback helps you and your team to have some discussions about this to expand the usage of the carreer tool in MSFS, we want to encourage developers to adapt this properly, no feel is a very difficult thing to implement to get very minimal rewards from it.

Your upcoming Preator 600 will be affected by these limitations as well, so, we all suffering from these limitations, hope SU5 / SU6 or even SU7 can actually expand this instead of leaving it on its current state.

Many thanks for the prompt response and the help as usual,

Raul

Discussions have started as soon as I provided you with my previous answer.

I don’t know what we will end up doing but be sure that this is taken very seriously.
