Stop bare lights

Hello, Is there a way to do a stop bare light . Red light effects passing to
green when in front ? Thanks a lot

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by a “bare light”, but what you want to do
is relatively easy. There are 2 steps. #1 - Create a “light preset” to define
the type of mesh (object) and attach 2 unidirectional lights to it. One red,
and one green. #2 - Place a (tiny) light row where you want to place the light
and “attach” your preset to it. NOTE: If you need the light to be above the
ground, just use a “light support” object (which is a just a square polygon)
on the ground over it, and use the Z handle on the Gizmo to lift it up to the
height you want your lightrow to sit. The lightrow itself will still be on the
ground in the editor, but the light will appear in the sim where the light
support is placed. In the preset below, I attached 2 lights to a
Runway_Tips_Green _Red object (center line light). It will show red when you
drive one way down the taxiway, and green when you come back the other way.

The 1st light is red, and it is
unidirectional. The 2nd is green, and it is also unidirectional. The
“Direction 1” line is the only one you need to play with for each light since
we are using unidirectional lights that shine… well, only in one direction.
The direction 1 fields are in the order of Y/Z/X. X being the axis that runs
along the lightrow (if you are driving on it, positive X is ahead of you,
negative X is behind you). Note that I set red direction 1 to “1” to make it
show in the “forward” direction, and green’s direction is set to “-1” to make
it show when going “backward”. I don’t think the actual number matters, just
the positive and negative part are doing what we need. If you put the “1” or
“-1” in the 1st Direction field (on the left), you can make the light appear
from the sides but not in front or back. For a “bare” light, you could
probably use “Light_Warm” or “Light_Cold” which are just lights with no
fixtures. Good luck!

He meant Runway Stop Bars.

Now I get it. In the US, a “stop bar”. Thank you. I have always admired your
work. If I learn 1/10th of what you know I would be a happy man.

Hello MDFLier, Thank you so much for your help and complete explanation ! Yes
sorry i mean runway stop bars. Go it , i will work on it now . All the best

Hi MDFLier, I am back to you (Runway stop bare lights) I was able to did what
you have explained but it is not exactely what i search . What i search to do
is to add a red light from every angles exept when you’re in front of the
light (must be green) I have tried some settings but don’t seems to work as i
want > In front = Green light / every other angles =Red If you have a better
idea ,thanks a lot ! From now your solution is the best i can do for sure , i
don’t know if we can do more , i don’t find. Sorry for asking again. Thank you
very much for your help ! Best regards

My example was only for green from the front and red from the back since most
(well, all) of the stop bars that I have seen are on taxiways that you can
only go 2 directions on. My example will still work for you, but you need to
add 2 more red lights. I only added one green and one red. You can add 2 more
red lights. In the direction 1 Y field (on the left), set one red to “1” and
the other red Y field to “-1”. This will make one show red to the left, one
that shows red to the right, the original red from my example showing red from
the back, and the green from my example showing from the front. Is this going
to be a single light, or a row of them?

Hi MDFlier, Thanks a lot for your suggestion and help ! That’s confirm what i
have understood. Yes it is a row of them. Kind regards
