Hello Sylvain. The aircraft capture tool doesn’t crash anymore in 1.7.6.0 (SU5 Beta), however only the Spawn Aircraft window open and there’s no way to actually capture anything, define scenes/groups, load/save XML configs etc.
This is all I can see. Sim version is 1.7.6.0 (Steam) and SDK version is 1.6.4.
This is all I see (and yes, I resized the window to 4K fullscreen and checked the Debug Options/Debug Values sub menus. Nothiing of use there):

Hello @HansHartmann
Can you try using the DevMode “Reset Settings” action?
Before you do, please backup your imgui.ini file in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and send it to us.
Regards,
Sylvain
Hello Sylvain,
this solved the issue. The “Aircraft Capture Tool” window now shows up too. Thank you very much. I use three 4K monitors and the dev mode windows (especially the project editor) sometimes open on the wrong display. It’s possible that the Capture Tool window was just out of sight.
Thanks!
Hans

If you have the chance, it would be interesting to see if the same issue occurs on SU4 if you restore the faulty imgui.ini.
It would tell us if this is on the exe side of the .ini was “corrupted”.

Sylvain
Hello Sylvain,
I reverted to SU4 and tried the old imgui.ini. The same thing happened as with SU5 beta: I got the aircraft selection window, but not the capture window.
However, before I reset the dev mode settings, the sim crashed (which is why I made my original post in the other thread). So, the behavior has still changed with the reset.

We will probably add some validator that checks the imgui.ini position and size match the currently available displays when activating a window, and forces some valid values otherwise.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for reporting the issue.
Regards,
Sylvain
