SU6 Beta, Exclusions of any type not working (rectangle, water, etc)

Simversion: 1.8.5.0
SDK version: 1.7.2

With the Sim Update 6 beta, it looks like you guys did fix that. Another issue regarding the TIN is to add a Water Polygon to the scenery. I am creating a custom city scenery of Amsterdam. Mostly getting the canals terraformed. With the new beta that works exceptionally well. Thanks for that.

But in front of the Central station, there is a water reservoir if you will, which is shown like a piece of dirt in the sim with the latest city update of the Netherlands. When drawing a polygon over this and select the Water Polygon option for that polygon nothing’s happening. Checking all the different water types also doesn’t change. Maybe I thought it was a Priority issue but if you know you cannot set a priority if water polygon is selected.

So I changed it back to a normal polygon with the exclusion of all the TIN related stuff and added a terraform on that polygon with a depth of around 2 meters. That works as it should and even better now. Unfortunately no option for adding water

According to the SDK document the if the original water body is let’s say RIVER, then the Water polygon also should be set to River. But also to no avail.

Maybe it’s a bug that sneaked in with the SU6 beta.
Below you can see the addition of two polygons, one for the terraforming, the other one (a duplication of the first poly,

with the water poly enabled.

Hello @PHRVK

Possibly the same issue as reported here?

Yes, you seem to have the same issue but unfortunately he is not able to replicate the issue.
I posted two videos; one with SU6 and one with SU5.

Yes that is right but I thought if I make another post then it should be the SDK. So to be honest. I cannot believe you cannot replicate the issue. If you are able to fix the terraforming issue, you have also to be able to fix this issue, right? Please check it out and try it anywhere in the world.

Best regards,
Roy

Hello @PHRVK

I have been able to replicate the issue at Amsterdam, although unlike you I don’t have water at all in SU6:

What does your scenery look like in SU5?

How strange is that. But maybe it has to do with the scenery cache, or maybe the quality settings in the Graphics menu. I don’t know. You can imagine that if you add a poly for adding water to the scenery it should be created with the exception of selecting the right water type, is it??

In sim update it looked the same. Bing maps or the engine probably doesn’t know if this “brown patch” actually is water. This body of water is actually part of a big renovation of the Central station area.

The above image shows an area outside photogrammatry or the City update the Netherlands. Here you can see the That terraforming together with the Water exclusion is working.

Going back to the affected area, you can see a part of the water body is suddenly back but only until the piers. No changes whatsoever, include, exclude water poly etc.

As you clearly can see the left part of the screenshot is WITH photogrammatry. The left part without. Zooming in to the test watercanal you can see that everything is working like it should.

For both screenshots look at the properties panel

You can see in the above screenshot that the terraforming cut of option is working really well in the non photogrammetry part.

The photogrammetry part is struggling with the terraforming, which is obvious because of the triangles, but getting the area look immersive it isn’t almost possible to create good looking renditions of the “real world”. Also rocks are floating around. But excluding these are actually working without issues. Water however, is a big pain.

Then last but not least, the dotted terraforming lines are going everywhere. This is actually the case since the first SDK for 2024, what is the reason for that? And … Does it also influence the creation of the poly / terraforming?

So my notice is with the new Bing data in combination with the terraforming are not playing well.
Hope this helps bit.
