Textures of houses

Hello everyone,
I have understood many things with the SDK and built many personal scenes now but I would have liked to change the textures of generic buildings because many in my region (Brittany in France) are displayed the color of red bricks and this does not exist in my country. All the houses are painted white or are made of granite stone. I tried to change the parameters with the sdk ( draw a polygon and in buildings and with the parameter " building detected by force ", but it seems that it has no effect? besides I don’t know exactly what it’s for and because the explanation in the sdk is very poor??
Would anyone of you have a solution to my problem please because I’m focusing on red textures and it’s ruining my flights :slight_smile:

Hi Patrick,
The Polygon, when used about “Buildings”, is useful only to remove them (the reference to the Detected Building is a further refinement of the removing feature)
The explanation in the SDK docs is quite understandable

The is no way at the moment to accomplish your goal.

All the autogen buildings definitions are defined via some Blackshark files (.cbor) -size, shape, texture used and such-
Those files are encrypted, so no way for us to mod them (in fact , the SDK documentation never mentioned them, nor there is a sign that in the future it might be possible)

Hope the collaboration with Blackshark will continue, cause their autogen is really good!

Asobo has done a huge job I admit but I think it can still be improved. The autogen is of course generally good at more than 1000 fts but when you fly vfr under 500 fts in microlight, the regional style is not there. The ideal would be to be able to apply it automatically and not one by one manually as currently its autogen. It could be his personal autogen with a choice offered by Asobo or with his personal library of buildings on large polygons areas and it would be perfect. Hopefully the Asobo team will offer this solution in future versions of the SDK…

You might be able to make an old FSX region bgl to cover your area. You could give it a different region assignment, and see if that fixes it. That might work. The old TMF viewer will display the regions and landclass. Just a guess.

I found that the region BGL has no effect on the type of buildings. It is as Federico describes above. No way to change it except to individually model all the buildings. Impossible.

Too tiring to change all the buildings 1 by 1 :slight_smile: Originally, I just wanted to change the red textures, the color of the brick, but I can’t find them. No problem, I’ll get used to it while waiting for improvements or a talented developer capable of doing it!!
