Textures

You should provide a blend file that shows this issue. (does not have to be your entire project - just a part that shows the problem). The latest exporter from ASOBO work for most devs.

Remember it only works for Blender 3.3,3.6 and 4.2.

I’m not exactly sure what the problem you’re having is, but I know I’ve had a plethora of issues when it comes to blender and fs2024. 2020 was a breeze when compared. These are several things I’ve come across that have fixed several issues regarding textures exporting for the sim.

  • for textures, ensure they are in the correct export slot for the sim, e.g. base color, metallic, roughness, or comp, normal, etc. For this one, I had issues with any characters other than letters for me to get the textures to export from blender and FS generate an xml. Once I only had letters with no spaces, the xml would create.
    • For this one, I also ran across an issue where even with the correct textures plugged up, they still wouldn’t work. I would have to directly connect them from the texture image file to the correct selection in blender instead of leaving it in the web of lines that come with the blender exporter.
  • Textures should also be inside your folder where your blender project is located.
  • For your project file in the sim, instead of creating a custom model lib file name, put it in the scenery/world/scenery/modellib path.

These are several issues I have come across and have used these work arounds to get the exporter to work. I am using blender 4.2 with the asobo exporter. Hopefully this helps.

I appreciate both of the responses. Based on @SageLobster5901’s notes, I tried shortening my texture file names, cleared out my texture folder, and re-exported, and it worked this time!

Using Blender 4.2 and Version 5.4.7 of the export tool from within the SDK files.
