Turbine engine data corrupts values when updated

Updating changes the values to only use up to 3 decimal places which I am sure
is fine but it also adds zero’s for all the empty fields in the cfg and then
the sim no longer reads it. Is this a known issue as I see nothing mentioned
here? Left side is updated with the UI and now does not work.

Hello @Flysimware This issue has been fixed, the fix will be pushed in the
release of SU12. Best regards, Yohan

@FlyingRaccoon How was it fixed? When I save & resync after making any changes with the engine section the lines I posted above are in the wrong format and i do not have enough thrust to move. Any info would be helpful on how this was fixed.

This is what happens when it breaks.

I found only this line of code seems to be the issue. All the zero’s are shorthand. So these are what breaks it. :0:0:0:0:0:0:0 If i removed these it works.

Hello @Flysimware

TURB ENG JET THRUST is not supposed to be read with percent unit as far as I can tell.
It should be filtered out:
image

  • What value do you have when getting the value in pounds?
  • What are the values of N1 and Mach when having abnormal thrust values?

I suspect there was a misunderstanding with Yoanito as I am unable to trace a particular modification made on SU12 for this table.

Regards,
Sylvain

Hi @FlyingRaccoon

Yes it makes sense to use pounds but percent also works to show the bug. So it’s not a value issue. It’s actual thrust issue based on if I use the aircraft editor vs manually editing this line of code. So right now the sim can’t read these values below that are not being used. So I have to remove them to get any thrust. The simvars was just showing a negative value because we are not even in the range of 0-100%.

:0:0:0:0:0:0:0

This is a read issue based on the output for the cfg file.

To test this just load the CJ4 and make any change in this table and you will no longer have enough thrust to move.

Hello @Flysimware

We have identified the problem.
This will not be fixed in SU13 but the issue has been prioritized.

Sylvain
