My issue is 2 fold. First of all, SimObjects won’t stay in place. They go up
and down depending on currently loaded ground LOD. It’s very visible on
photogrammetry.
On both
screenshots as you can see library object (chimney with stripes) stays in
place as it should. So I guess it’s a bug with SimObjects. Fine. I can find a
workaround… I will just prepare a dummy library object and attach simobject
to it. Wrong. I can’t force anything to attach to library object other than a
beacon. Here is my test code (object with the same object attached to it):
Trying this with library object or simobject has no effect and nothing is
attached. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug? According to docs, we can
attach library objects, beacons, simobjects, and some others, but for me, it
looks like only beacons work.
Hello Puffin, The first is obviously a bug, especially having the “Snap to
ground” checkbox unchecked. I will report this to our devs. I will investigate
a bit further on the second issue to see if I can reproduce it. Regards,
Sylvain
I have a similar problem, I can’t move above the ground animated SimObjects .
I’m trying to add some animated passengers inside my terminal, but they keep
staying attached to the ground even is I uncheck the snap to the ground
option, or I use some living world script. Any help? Is it a bug?
Asobo’s own animated people won’t leave the ground. Same goes for other
simobjects. You can place them on your own elevated surface as long as that
surface is made solid by exporting as a road material in its properties. I’m
not sure if that would apply to your own model.
@Boris@FlyingRaccoon Any news on this? has been 2 years since @PuffinFlight
opened it, is gonna take longer than our Marketplace’s application The
documentation has never changed on the topic, but seems like only can be
“attached”, the following attach the in the “sit1” node of the
“{1da5647d-6f13-429a-8bd4-a2a23fbb0ab1}” the other attachedObject types
(either LibraryObject or SimObject) won’t show in the game, while in the
brilliant documentation by @Nocturne they should (in the docu we have a
further specification that , , and can be used with AttachedObject, no
mention with )
Hello @mamudesign , I’m affraid it’s not possible by design to use other than
with the AttachedObject tag. We will update the documentation ( @Nocturne ) As
for the first issue, I will update the ticket on our backlog. With my
apologies for the lack of news on this subject, Regards, Boris
