Hi Team, I Updated our sim for the World update earlier today and since doing
so we do not seem to be able to open our dev project anymore. When I open and
click Load In Editor on the BGL the sim instantly freezes, I have reinstalled
the sim and loaded up with an empty community folder issue is still present. I
can build the scenery using the external tool and load in / fly around but am
still unable to edit the project. I have attached our SDK Files in below (
Private Reply ) Would appreciate some insight on this as soon as possible so
we can continue development.
Hello @ImpulseSimulations I’ll have a look and see if I can repro the freeze.
In the meantime, can you force a full dump generation when your game is frozen
and send it to us? You can do this by opening the Windows Task Manager, right
clicking the process and select “Create dump file” Regards, Sylvain
Hi Sylvain, Whilst I was awaiting your response I manually deleted all sim
files instead of steams uninstaller and reinstalled again. I looks no now be
loading, however, when loaded I am having massive holes / terrain anomalies
appear. hopefully you can see this. If I get the freeze again I will create
the dump file.
Hello @ImpulseSimulations The holes in the terrain is a common problem we have
when doing terraforming on top of TINs. We have no solution for this at the
moment. The only workaround is to use a polygon and exclude TIN in the area.
Regards, Sylvain
Any update on this team?
Hello @ImpulseSimulations Unfortunately, no. We are not able to reproduce the
freeze here. You said the freeze occurs on loading the project in the scenery
editor but your dump shows you were rather building the package. So does it
happen on building or loading ? or both ? The dump shows the program was in a
DX11 driver function. Can you try to update your driver ? Can you try to
switch to DX12 ? Regards, Sylvain
@ImpulseSimulations Before you reinstall your driver or try DX12, try to clear
the cache in C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\NVIDIA The Nvidia driver
creates a shader cache and it already caused similar issues so that seems to
be a good lead. Let us know if that solves your issue. Regards, Sylvain
Hi @FlyingRaccoon, For me the issue occurs on both. If I load the project and
click load BGL we face the same freeze. as for my drivers they’re updated
regularly so I am unsure on this one. Also my performance with the sim on DX12
is almost unusable.
Ok, so clearing the Nvidia shader cache didn’t solve the issue either?
