Unable to set manifold pressure in SU4

In SU4 I cant set the manifold pressure var, reducing engine output.

Package: Marketplace COWS DA42

release:

Su4:

Manifold pressure is set by a 100hz loop with a correction factor.

Tested the updates, all working as normal.

So something else has changed

i cant find anything on engine, manifold pressure, or anything

Hello @MrTommymxr ,
Any chance you could provide us with the code in your component to test ?

here in this thread.

I tested using your code in the topic you linked.

On SU3 and SU4 I have exactly the same result.

Correct, but why is the manifold pressure no longer stable?

Just saying, if this is how it will be on release. Thousands of customers will not be happy.

Hello @MrTommymxr

Indeed, like all the issues.

I just had a repro and logged the issue in our backlog.
I will let you know when I have some news to share.

Thanks.

COWS DA42 on the marketplace. Just make sure you load the aircraft from the menu. Aircraft selector will make the plane run in fs20 mode.

the relevant code can be found in the exterior xml and inputs.xml. Search for the manifold pressure avar.

I’m not sure I understand.

Your aircraft is an MSFS2020 aircraft, correct?
So what exactly is the issue if it runs in FS20 mode?

Did you try to apply a kind of fix to it in order to use it in MSFS2024 ?

Regards,
Boris

yes

In fs20 it uses input events, in fs24 a 100hz loop.

Hello @MrTommymxr ,

At this time we think it’s more an UI issue but we are still investigating.
Do you observe this regression outside the UI ?

Boris

Yes there is a reduction in engine power output. around 10% and unstable rpm.

In the initial post you can see the Lvar. This should match the FADEC target (throttle% Avar) with a 0.5-1% reduction from alternator losses.

@Boris

We noticing recenlty in our product, FSR500 a drop in instability replacing A-vars using RPN on SU4, we see jumps of variables every 10 seconds or so..

Probably related to this, for context I run code on 120hz to override simulation variables under certain circumstances, turbo engine variables, etc.

You refer to the 2 Lvars you are tracking?

I didn’t see any significant gap between the 2 in your video.
I have also compared the engine debug RPM and trust values between SU3 and SU4 and they seemed consistent.

Sylvain

I have 2 videos. One release one SU4.

Both are 100% throttle.

In the release version you see the power output is 99%. in su4 its 89%

You can also look in the engine debug and you will see the same values.
