Use of <DynamicMaterial> in aircraft liveries?

I’m reviewing the SDK in regards to the usage, but it’s not clear to me exactly it’s use case.

In my case, I’ve found that the clearcoat properties needed in the material settings are required to have specific settings to allow for proper display of my livery textures, but I also have a few bare metal liveries that require a different set of clearcoat properties.

I have several fuselage materials in my aircraft, covering a number of fuselage objects, control surfaces, etc.

Essentially, I can’t find a combination of material settings for the clearcoat type that work well with all of my liveries, and I don’t see a good clean method for a livery to be able to call a different exterior model. I mean, I could define a separate preset only for the bare metal liveries which would call a different exterior attachment (different model with bare-metal specific clearcoat settings) that would be tagged to only use the bare metal liveries, but that would mean essentially doubling the total amount of presets in my aircraft (I’m already at 30) just to have a bare metal version.

Would the allow me to swap between different materials being used on a range of objects (and associated materials), on a per-livery basis? This would be beyond ideal if so.

Is there an example of how this might work?

Hello,

Dynamic Materials are only used in missions and are not intended to be used for liveries.
You can post an idea in the Ideas section if you think this is something that would make sense to have.

This is one of those things that would be incredibly useful to have in the ‘here and now’, but since it’s a limitation that I’ll have to work around in my current project, I’m not so sure it’s worth my time to post as an idea.

Regardless, thanks for the clarification.
