Context: Any package, when trying to capture thumbnails.
**Bug description:
**
When in Developer mode, I want to create thumbnails for liveries. When I select the Aircraft Capture Tool, it opens the dialogue box. However, the aircraft never loads on this screen behind the dialogue box as it normally does. It loads the standard blue/gray background for the thumbnails, but then freezes. Sometimes it will just hang, and I have to manually end the task through ‘Task Manager’ and other times it will CTD.
I have noticed a very small “Spawn Window” in the top left corner, but I cannot click on it.
**Repro steps:
**
How I reproduce it every time, is to start Free Flight, and load in any aircraft at any airport. I have used both default aircraft and third party aircraft. Once loaded in, I leave the sim for a few minutes to make sure everything is loaded.
Then from the Devmode toolbar, I select Tools>Aircraft Capture Tool.
an easy way might be to grab this default xml, it has all the basic thumbs set up for a 2024 livery already
you can adjust the camera views as needed https://flightsim.to/file/85330/create-default-thumbnails-msfs-2024
put the xml on your desktop or somewhere and open it from the “Load Custom Set” button in the Capture Tool
Thanks for taking the time to respond, but that is not the issue.
I cannot select any buttons to load the custom xml’s; the program freezes before I can do so. Everything is unresponsive from that point onward, and unless it CTD’s itself, I have to force exit through Task Manager
Have you checked if you do not have the DLSS overriding enabled for MSFS2024 in the NVIDIA app? As per the following post (DLSS4 not compatible with the aircraft capture tool), this is a contributing factor to the Aircraft Capture Tool instability in the sim.
If you have enabled that on the NVIDIA app, EVEN to override the Frame Generation factor, which will automatically cause to “force” the latest DLSS model, please try disabling it and leave those DLSS overriding settings on the default values and try again if that solves the issue. Also, if you have DLSS Swapper or a similar app, try disabling it or resetting it to defaults so that the sim uses the same DLSS library included out of the box.

Can you check what your Frame Generation setting is set to?
We are tracking this issue that is potentially driver related, when using AMD FSR with Nvidia GPUs:
I have checked my settings, please see attached images of my settings. It seems to be correct as far as I can tell? Nvidia App settings and FS2024 settings.
