WEAR AND TEAR CHECK PROGRESSION not settable

Version: 1.6.34.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Blocker

Bug description: Seems this variable is not settable. I setup the variables in a update code to see if they will work. No success.

If i am correct this will allow us to set the time for each flight. This way we can store an Lvar value in save state then use that to load in the next flight. This way free flight will actually make sense to do a pre flight walk around. I hope to see this fully implemented.

0.5 1 (>A:1:WEAR AND TEAR CHECK PROGRESSION:38,Percent Over 100) 0.5 1 (>A:1:WEAR AND TEAR CHECK PROGRESSION:39,Percent Over 100) 0.5 1 (>A:1:WEAR AND TEAR CHECK PROGRESSION:5,Percent Over 100) 0.5 1 (>A:1:WEAR AND TEAR CHECK PROGRESSION:9,Percent Over 100)

Hello,

Are you in preflight when checking and setting the value ?

I tried with Simvar Watcher and the DA62, this is working as expected :

Boris,

Are we able to create custom interactions pointing at our own L:VARS for this display?

Best,

Raul

Technically you are in preflight as soon as you load at a ramp. So yes. And I tried to use logic to set this as well. Did you used the Simvars to set this? I will try that too.

I figure the point of this settable variable is so we can create our own wear and tear progression for free flight. Was that the intention? We really need this so we can save a bunch of time on wear and tear and so in preflight walk around shows actual wear from previous flights.

This variable is only the one that determines the user has interacted with the part long enough to show the confirmation showing the status.. nothing else, the ones that sets them as failed, percentage of wear, damaged, etc are read only.

Hello,

@SimbolFSReborn

No this is not possible.

@Flysimware

As Simbol mentioned above, WEAR AND TEAR CHECK PROGRESSION is only intended to track the user’s progression when inspecting an aircraft part. It cannot be used to set a wear-and-tear value.

If you think this functionality should be available in the sim, you can create a new idea.

EDIT : my bad, you have already created one here

Regards
Boris

Can we ask to extend this? or allow the wear and tear variables to be writabble outside of career mode?

It would be more flexible to just allow the external interaction behaviours to link to our own variables to be honest..

We’ve got a request for this posted here, under ‘ideas’: Access to the wear and tear integrity

Since it seems to be how things work, the more votes, the better chance that Asobo may look at it…

You actually set the value? Or just reading the value?

I now see that this was not the level but progression. Hope to see the idea post come fruition.
