Windshield Material - Normal texture slot - missing SDK documentation

I noticed on the Cabri G2 the windshield has a texture in the Normal slot and a texture for Icing Normal. Most default aircraft do not have a normal texture. I see no documentation as to what this texture is suppose to represent. I assume it’s for slight deformations in and windshield glass.

Is my assumption correct? and could you add some text to the SDK that describe how and when to use a texture in the Normal slot for Windshield Material.
