[2024] SU1 Beta - Project build folder naming - uses aircrafttype

Version: *1.3.7.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Low*
(Low - quality of life, workflow optimization, rare enough to not impact production, etc…
High - critical but workarounds are available, important feature not working as expected, frequent enough to impact production
Blocker - prevents from working on the project, prevents from releasing the product)

Marketplace package name: if applicable

Context: What package? When editing or mounted from Community? In main menu or in flight? etc…
Building a project - aircraft - glider
Similar MSFS 2020 issue: insert url here if applicable

Bug description:
When building an aircraft project - the project folder structure created is incorrect. It uses the Aircraft type rather than the asset type to make the folder
Repro steps:
Create an aircraft project - name all the inputs the same as the textbox labels
note that the aircraft type input is used as the asset name so you get a folder

testpojectname/PackageSources/simobjects/airpalnes/aircraftype

and not the expected

testpojectname/PackageSources/simobjects/airpalnes/companyshortname-packagename

similar to what is described in the documentation

Hello @DA40CGDFQ

companyshortname-packagename is used in the output package directory.
SimObject subfolder is usually named after the asset group.
Now, as you pointed out, this is different when creating a new Modular SimObject package, and file structure is inconsistent across our documentation.
This will be reviewed.

Sylvain
