This feature was present in the very first versions of MSFS but was removed later. As you know from your experience in other games, having a dedicated UV channel for AO will go a long way in reducing texture size for our models, so I’d like to request that this feature comes back in the SDK.
Or add a LightMap / AO baker [as it has unity or unreal] if you have the same thing in mind
