Blender exporter bug when exporting parented mesh with NLA track animation

Version: Blender exporter included in current live build, v2.3.3

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High
(Low - quality of life, workflow optimization, rare enough to not impact production, etc…
High - critical but workarounds are available, important feature not working as expected, frequent enough to impact production
Blocker - prevents from working on the project, prevents from releasing the product)

Marketplace package name:

Context: Blender exporter from live SU1: Exporting object with NLA track animation

Similar MSFS 2020 issue:

Bug description: When a mesh is a child of a empty node that has an NLA track animation, that mesh moves every time the export button is clicked. This makes it virtually impossible to export the models.

Repro steps:
Open include blender file found in attached zip file or:

  1. Create empty node. Create cube.
  2. Set empty node as parent of cube.
  3. Create animation on empty node with two keyframes, moving it a few meters between keyframes.
  4. Set export settings to export NLA tracks instead of Actions.
  5. Configure export path and export.
  6. Observe cube moves relative to empty node, even though cube does not have animation, on every export attempt.

Hello @WombiiActual,

I couldn’t reproduce this behavior in the SU2 SDK flighting.
Could you check using this version and let us know if you’re still seeing the issue?

Regards,
Boris

Thank you for checking. I think I’ll need to install SU2 beta on a secondary computer to access the SU2 flighting SDK.

I can confirm that this seems fixed in blender exporter from SU2 SDK flighting. Thank you.
